March
March 13 - Daffodil Days^ - Welcome Spring at the 5th annual event featuring the beautiful display of over 2,000 daffodils blooming in the Historic District gardens. For more information contact the Price Center at (512) 392-2900.
March 27 - Spring Fling- A celebration of children with games and activites geared for kids. For more information contact D.J. Domstead 245-0335.
March 30 - Taste of San Marcos- An evening to sample of local flavors of San Marcos restaurants to benefit local charities. The event will be hosted at Quail Creek Country Club from 5:30-8:00 p.m. For more information call 353-1664.
April 15 - 18 - Great Race Texas - Vintage car owners and enthusiasts converge on San Marcos for this Clover Leaf Rally. Participants compete for cash, prizes and bragging rights. The public is invited to welcome racers into San Marcos on the Historic Downtown Square as they begin returning from trials at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 17. April 23-25 - Central Texas Golf Fest^ - Largest amateur golf tournament in United States. Participants play on seven courses in a tri-county area. For more information contact the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce at (512) 393-5900.
April 29-May 1 - Viva Cinco de Mayo^ - Join the fun at the 30th annual Viva! Cinco de Mayo! Texas cooks turn out in full force to compete in the statewide Menudo Cook-off. This festival features three days of Tejano family entertainment. Held at the Hays County Civic Center. Join the fun on Saturday morning for a downtown parade. Free admission. May - November - Farmers Market^ - Every Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. - Everything is homegrown and handmade. Select from baked goods, fruits, vegetables, plants, arts and crafts. May 1 - 2 - Heritage Home Tours/Tours of Distinction^ - Once a year, San Marcos historic homes are open to allow the public a glimpse into the past. Tour guides provided by the Heritage Association of San Marcos. For information contact the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce at (512) 393-5900.
May 22 - San Marcos, Texas Natural and Western Swing Festival^ - Sit back, relax on the banks of the San Marcos River and enjoy the sounds of Texas Western Swing legends. For more information contact the San Marcos Main Street office at (512) 393-8430.
June 12 - Texas Water Safari^ - The world's toughest 260-mile boat race. A favorite for canoeists, kayakers, and spectators from all over. For more information call (512) 738-6607. Update: This event has been postponed due to flood conditions until July 17.
June 19, 26-27 - Juneteenth Celebrations - Enjoy the oldest known annual celebration of the ending of slavery. Festivities include: picnic, 5K run, awards and a gospel music song festival for the entire family. For more information, contact Harvey Miller at (512) 396-4903.

Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m. - Summer in the Park Concert Series^ - Free, live, Texas music concerts every Thursday evening. For more information contact the San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department at (512) 393-8400.
July 4 - SummerFest^ - See the illuminated river parade followed by a spectacular fireworks display. Games, activity booths for children and live music. For more information contact the San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department at (512) 393-8400. Free Admission.
July 17- Texas Water Safari- second make-up date- The World's Toughest 260-mile boat race. For the most up to date information, please see the official website.
August 5 at 7:30 p.m- Summer in the Park Concert Series^ - For the first time in recent years, the final concert will be in August. For more information contact the San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department at (512) 393-8400.
August 6 - 8 - Tax-Free Weekend - Shop early, stay late! Consumers will not pay taxes on any individual clothing or footwear item valued up to $100. Select stores at Prime Outlet - San Marcos and Tanger Outlet Center will be open extended hours. Many stores will stay open 24 hours. Additional savings offered throughout the weekend.

September 3 - 5- FIESTA 2004 - Three days of live musical entertainment, a variety of food booths, activities for all ages, and a chance to win fabulous prizes. For more information call (512) 353-8969.
September 18 - Junior Texas Water Safari^ - Young competitors anticipate this annual race held on the San Marcos River. The 16-mile adventure is an exhilarating opportunity for avid, young canoeist and kayakers. Entry Fee.

October 9 - Pet Fest - Join area pet lovers on the banks of the San Marcos River to celebrate the joys of pet ownership. Games and activities for the whole family for more information call (512) 396-6180.
October 15-16 - Texas Chopper Fest - Hays County Civic Center is set to host Texas Chopper Fest a full weekend of bikes and music featuring an autograph session with Mikey and Vinnie from Orange County Choppers on Saturday, October 16. For more information please call (512) 878-8182.
October 22-23 - San Marcos River Fall Fest - Music, food and fun the entire family will enjoy. Activities include an arts & crafts show, food booths, a fajita cook-off, children's activities and musical entertainment. November
November 11 - Veterans' Day Celebration^ - Join San Marcos as it pays tribute to military war heroes at the annual Hays County Veterans' Day Parade in downtown San Marcos at 9:00 a.m. Free for spectators. For information contact Jennifer Evans at (512) 392-2001.
Continue the celebration at the Confederate Air Force Veterans' Day Dinner & Hangar Dance in the Centex Hangar at the San Marcos Airport.
