Dr. Eli T. Merriman Log Cabin Museum
The Merriman Cabin was built c.1846. This log home of Dr. Eli T. Merriman and his wife and 7 children has recently been furnished with antiques appropriate to the period.The cabin was originally located near the town square. In the late 50's it was moved to Aquarena's Texanna Village.Texas State University gave the cabin to the Heritage Association in 2000.
The Merriman Cabin is open every Friday from 10-2 for visiting. There is usually a docent there to tell you the story of the Merriman's and their life in San Marcos.
