City Seeks CDBG Project Applications

City of San Marcos, TexasThe City of San Marcos will accept applications beginning Feb. 13 through March 23 for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding.

Applications are available in the Development Services – Planning office on the second floor of the Municipal Building, 630 E Hopkins, or may be downloaded from the City's website at www.sanmarcostx.gov/cdbg.

The U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development provides CDBG grant funds for projects in San Marcos sponsored by non-profit organizations and City departments that benefit low-to-moderate income residents. This is not an application for individuals to ask for personal financial assistance.

Eligible projects must satisfy national CDBG program objectives and address priority needs of housing, transportation, infrastructure improvements, or public facilities.

Funding for program year 2012 is anticipated to be $572,577 and becomes available after Oct. 1.
