Winners of the Business Awards will be announced during the Gala.
New at this year's Awards Gala is the introduction of San Marcos Has Talent. Nearly 40 acts auditioned for a chance to win $500! Our judges, Don Anders, Anders Photo.com; Susan Angell-Gonzalez, director and choreographer of the “world-renowned” Texas State Strutters, Rick Bowen, San Marcos Performing Arts Association, Akiko Rockers, Mid-Texas Symphony board member and Lauren Smith, a senior at Texas State pursuing a degree in dance education and Head Captain of the Strutters, had a difficult job in narrowing it down to the four finalists that will perform at this year's Annual Fall Awards Gala.
Voting will take place in two ways. Beginning October 6th, anyone interested in voting for their favorite performer can go to www.sanmarcoshastalent.com and watch the four finalists’ semi-final performance. At the end of each video, viewers will have the option of casting votes at $1 each. On the evening of the 109th Annual Awards Gala, after all four have performed, those in attendance will have the opportunity to cast a ballot for their favorite performance. The act with the most combined votes (online and in-person) will be declared the winner of San Marcos Has Talent.
