Mission Statement
The mission of the San Marcos Convention and Visitor Bureau is to promote San Marcos as a year-round travel destination, positioning San Marcos within the Texas tourism industry as a family-oriented destination.
Council Goals
- Allocate hotel/motel tax revenues to conduct programs and projects that promote San Marcos as a destination and attract visitors to stay overnight.
- Develop partnerships between local attractions, special events and businesses to maximize cross-marketing of off-season destination packages.
- Operate I-35 Tourist Information Center seven days a week to provide information, encourage increased occupancy in local lodging facilities, and exposure to local attractions, restaurants and businesses.
- Provide support services and hospitalility for conventions, meetings,and special events.
- Publish brochures and maps to promote San Marcos accomodations, attractions, entertainment, dining, shopping, history, special events, and points of interest.

Council Goals
- Provide personalized, confidential small business consultations.
- Conduct at least four workshops and seminars to help inform business owners, operators and employees.
- Explore needs of small business and address those needs.
- Showcase small business by honoring businesses each quarter and the business person of the year.
- Provide resourcesand informaiton for businesses through the office and website.
