Your Chamber website is the catalyst for commerce for San Marcos area businesses. The member self-serve content system allows members to build their own mini-websites free of charge, or you can pay a small fee to the Chamber and we will do it for you! Include your images, business detail, and links. The service includes a full description - keyword search capability, as well as free links to your website. Free quote & information request services are available via email for all businesses creating a customer-to-member direct connect.
Small Business Consultations
One-on-one, personalized business planning sessions take place weekly with trained business counselors for existing and start-up businesses. Provides guidance and options on marketing, finance, international trade, or any aspect of establishing or updating a business plan. Sponsorship Opportunities
Monthly membership functions provide forums for making business contacts. These include membership breakfasts (new members are introduced), business after hours mixers, and periodic luncheons, among other events.
Referrals from the Chamber
Members' names and phone numbers are distributed to thousands of people inquiring each year about goods, services, shopping, and visiting opportunities.
Ribbon Cuttings
Upon request, new members receive a ribbon cutting hosted by Chamber Ambassadors, and publicized by local media. Ribbon cuttings are available to businesses that expand, relocate, or come under new ownership.
Workshops and Seminars
The San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce is committed to helping our members improve their business through low-cost, and sometimes free, training workshops and seminars. Subjects include customer service, business plans, financing, human resources, and e-commerce, to name a few.
Business Expo
Members may participate in the highly successful Business Expo, in August, where firms target other businesses and consumers to market their products and services; the largest such event in San Marcos.
Brochures Displayed

All members are listed in the Chamber's Membership Directory, used as an information piece on the area and a guide of recommended businesses to newcomers, local and out-of-town businesses, and residents.
Banner Advertising
Websites make money, but one of the main sources of revenue is advertising. And one of the most popular forms of Internet advertising is the banner ad.
Member-to-Member Discount Program
Members are encouraged to provide a discount or incentive that will be available to fellow Chamber members only.

The Chamber serves as a reference point for members when they seek the latest statistical and demographic information for business planning purposes.
Chamber Seal
Members have free access to the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce seal used for exporting merchandise.
Newsletters
All new and renewing members are listed in the newsletter, and all members receive this monthly publication highlighting opportunities and activities either electronically or by surface mail.
